This web portal was created in 2019 as an output of the project about Czechs in Norway during the Second World War, which was conducted at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. Currently, the website is maintained by the Department of Scandinavian Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in cooperation with Norwegian colleagues as part of a follow-up academic collaboration on Czech-Scandinavian relations during the Second World War.
Dr. Vendula V. Hingarová from the Charles University in Prague is the founder and administator of the web site. She researches on Czech-Scandinavian relations and mobility of Czechoslovaks to Scandinavia during WWII. She collects ego-documents and is responsible to make the history of the Czech forced workers known to the general public and especially to the relatives and descendants of the workers. Prof. Hans Otto Frøland from the Institute of Contemporary History at the University of Trondheim is an expert on Norwegian war history. He researches the German building projects in Norway where forced labours and war prisoners from occupied Europe worked.
Lars Busterud from the University of Trondheim and research on microhistory and how to teach WWII history in the classroom.
